Tamer Hosny (Arabic: تامر حسني; born in Cairo, on August 16, 1977) is an Egyptian singer, actor and composer. He was initially featured on Free Mix mixtapes from Free Music, an Egyptian music production company. His breakthrough single "Habibi Wenta B'eed" gave him success.
Tamer mother is Syrian, but she had lived all her life in Egypt. She brought up Tamer and his elder brother Hossam in the absence of their father, Hosny Sherif. Tamer Hosny grew up with a passion for soccer and played it professionally for nine years, seven years in El Ahly club and two years in El Zamalek club. He was recognized by Mahrous, manager and owner of Free Music. He later on signed a contract with Free Music in 2002. Tamer didn't debut, as most people believe, with Sherine's first mixtape. instead he was featured in previous mixtapes, and one of them featured other artists like Khaled Agag and Mohamed Mounir. He graduated from October Six University, with a Bachelor's degree in Media Studies.
Hosny starred in the 2003 Egyptian movie, Halet Hobb (A State of Love). The movie featured music by Hosny himself.He produced songs called Aktar Haga Heya Di, Eragly,and Soutek
In 2004, he released his first studio album as a solo artist. Titled Hobb, the album featured the single "Arrab Habibi". His hit, "Arrab Habibi", was played on satellite music channels and became popular.
The movie Sayyed El Atfy was released in 2005, and featured 2 songs. "Koll Marra" and "Nour Einy", both were performed within the movie. The full versions of the songs accompanied the performance in addition to scenes from the movie were made into music videos. They were initially exclusive to Melody Hits channel.
In 2005, Hosni was embroiled in a trial case in which he was charged with forging a passport and avoiding conscription.[1] It was a heavily publicized case in the media, since he and fellow Egyptian artist Haytham Shaker were both convicted with the same charges. It has been reported that they both went to professional forgers to create a document that they completed military service in Egypt. This came in the middle of Hosny's preparations for a new album and a movie(Omar and Salma). It was also reported that the news leaked after the forger himself confessed to a close friend of his.
They were both sentenced to three years in jail, and were fined 50,000 L.E each. He was released from jail in 16th September 2006.
At the end of March 2007, Hosny released his latest album "Ya Bent El-Eih". The album featured 13 songs, nine of them were stolen and leaked on the internet a week before the official release.
At the beginning of June 2007, Tamer released his latest movie Omar & Salma with Mai Ezzedine.
In 2007 Tamer Hosny released an album of Islamic and Ramadan themed songs, called Il Ganna Fe Biotna (Heaven is in our Homes). It was released on 10th September 2007.

Asala was born in Damascus, Syria to a middle class couple. Mostafa Nasri, Asala's father, was a revered Syrian composer and singer who recognized her singing talent early on and launched her singing career. She was very attached to her father who taught her to love music. Her infatuation with music entertained her through her childhood, she was much more content with the radio than a doll. Asala began her musical career by performing patriotic, religious, and children's songs when she was four years old. She sang the theme song, Qessas Al Sho'oub (Arabic: قصص الشعوب), of the cartoon show, Hekayat Alamiyah (Arabic: حكايات عالمية). In 1986, Mostafa Nasri passed away after suffering from internal bleeding caused by a car accident. The untimely passing of Asala's father caused her great grief and she left singing and took up her duties as the eldest child. At the young age of seventeen, she took care of her siblings, Reem, Amani, Ayman and Ayham with her mother.
Asala's commercial musical career debuted in 1991 with Law Ta'rafou (Arabic: لو تعرفو). The album had 4 songs in the oriental operatic tarab style. The album was an instant hit with heartbreaking songs like Ya Sabra Yana and Samehtak Ketir. She quickly cemented her presence in a growing industry brimming with new, young talent like Najwa Karam, Saber Rebai, Angham, and Abdelmajeed Abdullah.
Personal life
Asala has two children from her first marriage to Ayman Al Dahabi, whom she divorced in 2005 following his adultery scandal. She currently has custody of both their children, Sham and Khaled. She is now married to famous Palestinian-American director Tarek Al Eryan. She was pregnant with Tarek's child in early 2007 but suffered a miscarriage halfway through the pregnancy. Asala is a Sunni Muslim.
